It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, isn’t it ? It!s time to start choosing your silly season sneakers. Getting into the spirit, we thought we!d take a look back and reminisce the all-time great est Christmas sneakers.
1. Concepts X Nike SB Dunk High #Ugly Sweaters! -
Perhaps the most favourite and loved Christmas sneakers of all are the Concepts X Nike SB “Ugly Sweater” Dunks. This silhouette tries to portray an ostentatious on-foot translation of the famous winter woollies. Across all the three highly sought after colorways, a grumpy beanie snowman mo tif is featured. These pairs were released 2013 and again in 2017.
2. Air Max 90 ‘Gift Wrapped’ -
If the Dunk’s show Christmas like carols playing in a supermarket, then this pair of Air Max 90 is like Santa’s workshop which is complete with Saint Nick, elves, reindeer and loads of decorations. The upper of the silhouette shows an all-over candy Swoosh print with a sparkle-flecked outsole. To tie up the entire festive shoe together, the laces are red ribbon laces which are perfect for wrapping them to be put under the tree. This silhouette released in 2015.
3. Nike SB Dunk ‘Candy Cane’ -
Back in 2015, Nike really took a good play on our Christmas indulgence by modelling their 2015 holiday drop as everyone’s favourite edible ornament. Yes, you guessed it right. Candy Cane! The inspiration from candy canes was made clear by the red and white stripes. And the small hits of green around the shoe will surely bring a bit of Christmas cheer to even the Grinchiest sneakerhead. These shoes are meant to be hung all over the Christmas tree as decorations.
4. Nike Kobe 6 ‘Grinch’ -
If there ever was a release to stand as a rival to the holiday merriment and sneaker legend status of the #Ugly Christmas Sweaters!, it would be the Nike Kobe 6 #Grinch.! On Christmas Day of 2010, this silhouette was laced up by Kobe himself. Because of this, the shoe not only went on to become one of the best festive creps, but also one of the best Kobe releases EVER. To relive the magic, the shoe was released again as Kobe 6 Protro on Christmas Eve of 2020.
5. Reebok Instapump Fury ‘Grinch’ -
Speaking of the anti-Christmas resident of Whoville, the Grinch also inspired Reebok!s yuletide In stapump Furys from 2016. With an upper as hairy as the creature!s fingers, and overlays red like his suit, they!re about as wild as a festive pump can get.
6. Sean Cliver X Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Holiday Special’ -
In a year when the Nike SB Dunk was hot, hot, hot, Sean Cliver caps off 2020 with one of the year!s coolest releases. The #Holiday Special! is around the wintry snowscapes during Christmas north of the Equator, the pale blue suede and white leather uppers are durable and skateable. Gold Swooshes are super festive, as are the glittery ice soles.
