As the year 2022 approaches an end, let’s have a look at all those fashion moments which turned  heads over the year. These looks went viral and completely filled our social media platforms. This  year acted as a revival from the COVID era which mainly focused on athleisure. 2022 brought  about a spark of dressing sensually while focusing on minimalism and simplicity and this was  clearly visible on the ramps of fashion shows along with street looks. The 90s made a classic  comeback with the Y2K aesthetic taking over every social media. With respect to the big screen, the  fashionable trash bag of Balenciaga, ribbed tank top by Prada and Valentino’s Pink PP made up  defining moments. And as for the small screen, different series like Euphoria and Anatomy of a  Scandal brought out several memorable moments for fashion. Listed below are some of the looks  we couldn’t take our eyes off and defined fashion for the upcoming year -

1. Prada Ribbed Tank Top

Would anyone have imagined that a simple tank top attached with the signature Prada logo cause a  huge fashion statement and instantly become a hit? The founders of Prada, Miuccia Prada and Raf  Simons clearly knew what they were doing and sent out one of the biggest hits down their runaway  in Milan Fashion Week 2022. This top would for sure act as a cultural statement because of it being  related to the style in 90s along with queer history.

2. Diesel Belt Skirt

This skirt faced several criticisms on TikTok after going viral, for it being impractical and pricey.  However, the skirt still made many people attracted to buying it. After the launch of this skirt,  Diesel proved to be the underdog of the high fashion industry. The brand completely transformed  itself from a basic denim label to a brand taking risks with it’s products. This was only possible  because of their creative director - Glenn Martens. Lyst, which is considered as the best place for  high fashion, stated that Diesel defined the mood for 2022 and is one of the hottest brands of the  year.

3. Valentino Pink PP

The colour was a warm toned fuchsia which was specially custom created by the creative director of  Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli for their Fashion Week and it was certainly one couldn’t miss. It was  characterised as the hue of 2022. According to Last, after the pictures of Margot Robbie disguised  as a pink cowboy were released, the search scale for pink increased by a whopping 416%. Even  though this has been approved by several celebrities and has been a red carpet favourite, we’re a;;  set to remove this trend in 2022.

4. The Black Cutout Dress worn by Maddy Perez in Euphoria

It’s crazy to imagine the amount of hold this bodycon black cutout dress had on the audience after it  appeared on the show Euphoria and was worn by Maddy Perez. It does not even need to be

explained how viral this dress went since it was over every social media platform and every girl out  there wanted one for themselves! Love The Sales, a company which aggregates fashion data, stated  that there was a 890% rise in search for the same or similar dresses.

5. Balenciaga Trash Bag

Yes, you heard it right! The luxury brand Balenciaga went onto release a trash bag which is worth  1790$ and it debuted at the Fashion Week 2022. It clearly went onto break the internet. Many  people considered it as “entry level” accessory since it was comparatively cheaper to other bags  produced by the brand. What left us scratching our heads was that Balenciaga promoted this product  as an actual “trash pouch.”

6. Bella Hadid’s Coperni Spray On Dress

Saving the best for the last, we can easily say that Bella Hadid’s spray on dress at Coperni was the  most defining moment of fashion, not only for this year but for the entire decade! It was all in one -  from performance art to a glimpse of future fashion, it was breathtaking in every way possible. This  moment in fashion was viewed by over one million people on social media. It clearly ended 2022  with a bang!
