This sneaker made it’s debut in 1985 and ever since, it has become a staple and must-have for streetwear kids and celebrities across the globe. The Air Jordan 1 line has so much influence on the fashion world that even big brands like Dior recognised it’s success. Without further delay, let’s dis cuss a few ways in which we can style the Air Jordan 1’s -
1. High, Mid or Low.
Yes I know putting up this question will offend some people, but it’s true that all heights of the Air Jordan 1 are quite popular these days. The Original Air Jordan 1 High is still the most superior but the stigma around Mids is fading away. We could say the same for Lows too. One could easily style a pair of Lows and Mids for a laid-back summer fit. You just need to choose wisely and combine it with the right pair of jeans and shirt.
2. OG or New Colorway.
For the purists, there are very few selected colorways which are acceptable to lace up. Yes, the OG color schemes are a great option, but don’t be afraid to experiment! Wear whatever you love. Be cause the younger you are, the lesser the historical significance means to you. That’s why a pair like the Obsidians now resell at around ₹45000 with no historical importance. However, no harm in do ing a bit of research. The pair would become more important for you, if it does have some history associated with it.
3. Laced Tight or Hanging Loose.
Since we were children, we’ve been taught that the only correct way to wear laces is with 2 bows dangling on top. However, the Air Jordan 1 specifically, is a pair that you would often observed laced in a handful of ways. The reason behind this is that they come unlaced in the box. Some peo ple choose to lace the shoe upto the topmost eyelet and tie them tight. This maneuver is not recom mended but it can be pulled off sometimes. To go for a more relaxed fit, keep the two top eyelets unlaced which would allow your pants to easily sit behind it. Another way would include not to tie them at all and let the excess hand on either sides. Just never wear them laceless, the way Will
Smith wore his Air Jordan 5s on The Fresh Prince Bel-Air. Trust me, it won’t work.
4. Buy the Right Size.
Creasing is something which is inevitable when you wear a shoe. Even if you try walking in ways to avoid it, the toe box will eventually start showing signs of age. One of the easiest ways to avoid creasing in the Air Jordan 1s is by purchasing the proper size. Trying them on would be the best way to find out, however, it won’t be possible every time. So, if your foot is wider, go up by half a size. Another way to combat the creasing process is by using foam inserts.
