Most people who are into streetwear fashion are obsessed with the brands they wear or the styles of clothes they own. Accessorising, on the other hand, is one of the most overlooked aspects of streetwear. Accessories are an important part of any streetwear look, and with social media "hype-beasts" constantly on the hunt for the newest and most wanted items on the market, new trends emerge all the time, and brands are constantly releasing new and exciting products to stay relevant and exciting.
Pairing the appropriate accessories with your streetwear ensemble can make it more stylish and unique. They can help blend your outfit’s style with your taste. Accessories allow you to not only add a personal touch but also refine your look, whether you’re going for a casual look with items as simple as a cap, or elevating your style with some jewellery. Of course, while Sneakers and Jackets also constitute an aspect of accessories, we feel like they’ve become too overused in recent times. Time to take a look at some of the underdogs:
Bags

If you’re always on the move or frequently travel, bags are a fantastic way to accessorise. Backpacks, shoulder bags, and mini handbags even can add a striking personal touch to your streetwear choices. Oh, and let's not forget the utility aspect here too! When your everyday items have outgrown the space in your pockets, there is no reason to turn your back on the classic backpack. The convenient hands-free design may be too nostalgic for some, reminding us of times at school when backpacks were necessary, but now with designer brands emerging with some high-fashion versions of this classic bag, there are now plenty of backpack options that will complement your street-wear look whilst keeping your items safe and protected from the elements.
Jewellery

This tip would definitely be for the men, who have seriously underused this aspect of accessorising for countless years. Boys, listen up! Yes, many men indeed shy away from jewellery and understandably so. However, adding jewellery to your outfit is a fantastic way to accessorise. Jewellery comes in all shapes and sizes. You can wear rings, bracelets, chains, and pendants to style your clothing. The jewellery you choose to wear depends on your personal preferences, but adding a jewellery item can be invaluable to helping you stand out in streetwear. Jewellery also doesn’t necessarily have to be gold-studded or diamond-encrusted. You can opt for environmentally-friendly jewellery made from materials like recycled metals.
Headwear

Hats and caps, bandanas, hair covers, and so much more are all examples of headwear. Incorporating it into your streetwear looks can seriously up your heat game. Want to complete your urban streetwear ensemble? Add a beanie to your wardrobe. Have you woken up hungover with a bad hair day and decided to go out for brunch with friends? Throw on a Baseball/Golf cap, and this is sure to add an edge to even your most basic Sunday outfit. Similarly, if you're going on an outdoor adventure, you can look stylish by accessorising with a bucket hat on a rainy day. Since the possibilities are endless, headwear is frequently a top choice for an accessory. Just be sure to team it well with a t-shirt or sweater to look super stylish. Opt for minimalistic styling with the brand name embroidered on it for streetwear style.
Sunglasses

Heading away on a winter trip to the hill stations in the North? Or do you simply need some sunglasses to protect your eyes from the remaining winter sunshine? Whatever your reason, we’ve got you sorted with an answer. Sunglasses are an evergreen accessory, and even more so in a country like ours, where the sun shines year round. Sunglasses are just a great way to accessorise a look, even when it's not sunny, and the perfectly chic way of covering your eye bags on an early morning. A personal favourite, Round-framed glasses and Aviators are designed to suit a variety of face shapes; these frames will suit almost everyone. You can just never go wrong with these classics. If you are feeling brave, however, why not switch up the lens colour and go for something more vibrant to really add the finishing touch to your winter outfit?
Tactical Belts

Forget your basic belts; let’s talk about tactical belts. With a hefty metal buckle, tactical belts will elevate your streetwear style by giving your outfit the appearance of looking more sophisticated, premium, and polished. While they can be relatively cheap, they add a lot of weight to an outfit that would have otherwise fallen a little flat. Because of their adjustable nature, belts tend to be fairly long, which adds to the overall aesthetic by adding dimension with a long strap that flows with your outfit. Tactical belts are often a great piece to finish your streetwear look because they are fully adjustable. This allows you to wear it one of two ways: as a proper waist belt or as a piece to cinch in your waist.

Alas, one has to keep in mind that accessorising requires a subtle touch because overly accessorising can quickly ruin your entire ensemble. That being said, it's now your time to get out of your comfort zone and take advantage of this great opportunity to switch up your style and incorporate different elements of streetwear to create a brand new personal style that is perfect for the changing seasons.
